Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936), English journalist, short-story writer, poet and novelist, is best known for writing the Jungle Book which was published in 1894. He became the first English recipient of the the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907, and aged 41, remains to be the youngest recipient to date.
